What an interesting night.
We played Easter Bunny Rugby (it's exactly what it sounds like), got all tired out and then came in to discuss another name of Jesus: Messiah.
I learned a great deal when studying for this talk and it produced some really amazing discussion in the "talk time" and in the D Group time (in my D group anyway).
Some really good reminders of the basics of who Jesus is as well as some challenging reflection questions, like the Messiah is to bring hope and rescue and as His ambassadors how are we bringing the message of Hope and Rescue to a broken world?
We are doing some extra curricular teaching with a few videos online. If you want to check them out go to the Youth Group Youtube account ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EBgkIW6u30&context=C49e2399ADvjVQa1PpcFNn_4f-pMNdeQW1J2Cv7dEGLtJ7mn0fJsI= ) and watch them.
Hope you enjoy!
Next week we will welcome some missionaries from Mission Aviation Fellowship in Haiti who worked with our Pastor's son Matt when he was serving in Haiti last summer. All you parents are invited to join us for their presentation at 7:30 next Wednesday.
If you have any questions email me at youth@actoncrc.com.
Hope to see you next week.
- Andrew
This is a place for the parents of our Youth Group to ask questions, be informed and join us on the journey.

New Series
After a great week last week, I have used the foundation the YLT student made as a springboard to a new series on the names of Jesus. Given there are so many different names, each Monday and Friday we will also have some short video devotionals to talk about some of the other names of Jesus (otherwise the series would take us into January 2015). So if you come across those take some time to watch them and ask your teenagers about it.
This week, being the week before Easter we discussed Jesus as the Lamb of God. Together, we looked back at the Passover and how it points in so many ways to Jesus and how He serves for us as a Passover Lamb. We also looked at the Israelites and their life of slavery and how we can often relate to them, finding our selves as slaves to Sin, which the Lamb of God frees us from.
We ended the night being reminded of the words in Galatians 5 reminding that Christ has set us free and to stay free! We broke some chains and each took a piece to remind us never again to go back to the life of slavery we once lived in, but instead live lives full of the freedom bought for us by the precious blood of the Lamb!
